Seeds Quality and Quantity of Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] Cultivars in Response to Cold Stress

چکیده
The aim of the study was to identify response cold stress 16 soybean cultivars by evaluating their emergence, yield level, and seed chemical composition. Studies were conducted in 2018–2019. A total sixteen belonging three earliness groups (early, medium-early late) included. Short-term (3-day) (12/6 °C day/night) applied immediately after sowing (A), 3 days (B) 6 (C) seeds, while long (9-day) (D) seeds. In control plot (K), plants grown under optimum conditions (20/15 day/night). showed that stress, reduced plant emergence 5–10%, depending on treatment. Long had a beneficial effect all (average increase 21.5%), with statistically significant differences 12 trend four cultivars. Short also caused treatments B C (by 6.8 11.6%, respectively). Cold did not significantly affect nutrient content yield. Varietal differentiation found respect composition

Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr].
In this chapter we describe an Agrobacterium tumefaciens transformation method of soybean that utilizes mature half seeds and regeneration from the cotyledonary node region. This method results in fertile transformed soybean plants and transgenic seed in approximately 9 months. Using mature half seeds as starting material has proven to be a reliable method that does not require additional wound...
متن کاملSoybean (Glycine max L. Merr.) seed composition response to soil flooding stress
Soybean is a valuable commodity due to its high oil and protein content and its nutritional and functional food value. Changes in soybean seed composition by environmental stressors including heat and drought have been documented, but the effects of flooding are not yet known. This study profiles the change in seed composition of five soybean plant introductions (PIs) tolerant to flooding stres...
متن کاملSoybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) cultivar tolerance to sulfentrazone
Sulfentrazone has excellent soil activity on many small-seeded broadleaf weeds, however, soybean injury in "eld experiments has been noted under certain environmental conditions. Injury levels in these "eld experiments have appeared to di!er in severity among soybean cultivars. Growth chamber studies were initiated with the objective of examining the suspected di!erences in tolerance among soyb...
متن کاملAssessment of somatic embryogenesis potency in Indian soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] cultivars.
Majority of the Indian soybean cultivars are recalcitrant to tissue culture regeneration. The present communication reports the development of somatic embryogenesis in a liquid culture medium from immature cotyledons of G. max. Following induction with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) or naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), the number of somatic embryos and percentage of explants that responded...
متن کاملTranslocation of Sulfate in Soybean (Glycine max L. Merr)1
MATERIALS AND METHODS Sulfate translocation in soybean (Glycine max L. Merr) was investigated. More than 90% of the sulfate entering the shoot system was recoverable in one or two developing trifoliate leaves. In young plants, the first trifoliate leaf contained between 10 to 20 times as much sulfate as the primary leaves, even though both types of leaf had similar rates of transpiration and ph...
